Stars acquire RW Tukonen from Kings
Jul 22, 2008 - 12:15 AM DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars on Monday acquired right wing Lauri Tukonen from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for left wing Richard Clune.Tukonen, 21, was Los Angeles' first-round selection in 2004. He spent last season with the Manchester Monarchs in the American Hockey League, recording nine goals and 26 assists in 62 games.
He skated in one game with Los Angeles last season, adding to his first four career appearances with the Kings during the 2006-07 season.
"Lauri is a promising prospect with a good deal of upside and potential," Stars' co-general manager Les Jackson said. "He is a former high first-round draft pick with solid hands, skating ability and hockey sense, and we look forward to his continued development within our organization."
Clune, 21, was Dallas' third-round selection in 2005. He split the 2007-08 season between the AHL's Iowa Stars and the East Coast Hockey League's Idaho Steelheads.
In 38 games with Iowa last season, the Toronto native posted three goals and five assists.
