Sabres sign LW Darche
Jul 25, 2008 - 12:08 AM BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) -- The Buffalo Sabres on Thursday signed free-agent left wing Mathieu Darche, who scored a career-high 22 points last season in 73 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning.Terms were not disclosed, but the CBC is reporting it is a one-year deal worth $575,000.
The 31-year-old Darche has registered eight goals and 16 assists in 101 career games with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators, San Jose Sharks and Lightning.
Darche's older brother, J.P., is a long snapper with the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs.
