Capitals re-sign D Morrisonn
Jul 26, 2008 - 10:29 PM ARLINGTON, Virginia (Ticker) -- The Washington Capitals signed their lone remaining restricted free agent Saturday, inking defenseman Shaone Morrisonn to a one-year contract.Financial terms were not disclosed.
Morrisonn, who had filed for arbitration, appeared in 76 games last season, recording one goal, nine assists and 63 penalty minutes. The 25-year-old native of Vancouver skated in all seven contests against the Philadelphia Flyers in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals despite suffering a broken jaw, notching one assist.
Drafted 19th overall by Boston in 2001, Morrisonn has collected six goals, 39 assists and 278 penalty minutes in 278 career games with the Bruins and Capitals.
