Bruins sign Cs St. Pierre, Thompson
Jul 28, 2008 - 9:34 PM BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Boston Bruins signed centers Martin St. Pierre and Nate Thompson on Monday.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Bruins acquired the 24-year-old St. Pierre from the Chicago Blackhawks last Thursday. He appeared in 21 games with Chicago over the last three seasons, tallying one goal and three assists. He did not register a point in five contests last campaign.
The 5-9, 185-pound St. Pierre ranked second in the American Hockey League with 67 assists and 88 points with Rockford last season.
Thompson, 23, was named the captain for Providence of the AHL last season and went on to amass personal bests with 19 goals, 20 assists and 39 points in 75 games. He has 35 goals and 45 assists in 220 career games with Providence.
