McCrimmon rejoins Red Wings as assistant coach
Aug 4, 2008 - 11:54 PM DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings on Monday signed former defenseman Brad McCrimmon as an assistant coach.The deal is for three years, but financial terms were not disclosed.
McCrimmon, who spent four campaigns as an assistant coach with the Atlanta Thrashers, played 18 seasons in the NHL - including three with the Red Wings.from 1990-93. He also served as an assistant coach with the Calgary Flames and the New York Islanders, as well as a head coach of the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League.
Also on Monday, the Red Wings re-signed assistant coach Paul MacLean to a three-year deal.
