Canadiens sign D Anderson

Aug 6, 2008 - 5:01 PM MONTREAL (Ticker) -- The Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday signed free agent defenseman Chad Anderson to a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The 6-3, 217-pound Anderson, 26, spent all of last season with the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League, registering two goals and 11 assists in 55 games. It was his first professional campaign, following four years at Alaska Anchorage of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
