DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Detroit Red Wings brought back a pair of blue-liners Tuesday, re-signing the ageless Chris Chelios and youngster Kyle Quincey.

Chelios, 46, signed a one-year contract while the 23-year-old Quincey inked a two-year deal.

The reigning Stanley Cup champion Red Wings did not disclose financial terms of either deal. But Detroit-based website MLive.com reported last week that Chelios' contract is worth $850,000.

A three-time Norris Trophy winner, Chelios appeared in 69 games last season with the Red Wings, collecting three goals and nine assists. The Chicago native played 14 postseason gamed this past spring but failed to record a point.

Chelios, a 24-year veteran, is the oldest active player in the NHL. He also leads active players in games played (1,616) and penalty minutes (2,873).

An 11-time All-Star, Chelios has 185 goals and 763 assists in a stellar career spent with the Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and Montreal Canadiens. He also won championships with Montreal in 1986 and Detroit in 2002.

Quincey has appeared in 13 games over parts of three seasons with Detroit, scoring one goal.
