FRISCO, Texas (Ticker) -- Sergei Zubov is on the shelf again.
The Dallas Stars on Thursday announced Zubov underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his hip and will be sidelined at least a month.
The 38-year-old defenseman, who missed half of last season due to a sports hernia, will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
A native of Moscow who represented Russia at the 1992 Winter Olympics, Zubov was selected to participate in his fourth All-Star Game last campaign but was unable to play due to his hernia. He notched four goals and 31 assists in 46 regular-season games before adding a tally and six points in 11 playoff contests.
Selected in the fifth round of the 1990 draft by the New York Rangers, Zubov has collected 152 goals, 615 assists and 337 penalty minutes in 1,058 career games with the Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Stars. He helped New York to the Stanley Cup in 1994 and also was a member of Dallas' championship team in 1999.
The Stars also announced blue-liner Philippe Boucher is day-to-day with a sore foot. The 35-year-old native of Quebec was limited to 38 games last season as he underwent shoulder surgery on December 5.
Drafted 13th overall by Buffalo in 1991, Boucher notched two goals and 12 assists in 2007-08. An All-Star in 2007, he has recorded 91 tallies, 291 points and 663 penalty minutes in 707 career contests with the Sabres, Los Angeles Kings and Stars.
