Stars sign Ds Ludwig, Monast
Sep 27, 2008 - 1:01 AM FRISCO, Texas (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars signed a pair of defensive prospects Friday, inking Trevor Ludwig to a two-year contract and Guillaume Monast to a three-year deal.Financial terms were not disclosed.
A sixth-round pick in 2004, Ludwig recorded a goal and three assists in 29 games as a senior at Providence College last season. He joined Iowa of the American Hockey League after the collegiate campaign, notching three assists in seven contests.
The 23-year-old, who was assigned to Manitoba of the AHL on Friday, is the son of former Stars defenseman Craig Ludwig.
Monast, 20, spent last season with Halifax of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, registering eight goals and 22 assists in 65 games.
