Red Wings D Chelios leaves game
Oct 1, 2008 - 1:52 AM MONTREAL (Ticker) -- Detroit Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios left Tuesday's preseason game against the Montreal Canadiens in the third period with an apparent ankle injury. The 46-year-old veteran hobbled off the ice after blocking defenseman Francis Bouillon's shot with his right foot at 2:09 of the third. Team trainers examined the ankle for a few minutes on the bench before Chelios was helped off the ice and back to the locker room with the game tied at 1-1.
Chelios is entering his 25th season in the NHL after re-signing with the Red Wings earlier this month.
