Stars claim D Janik off waivers
Oct 2, 2008 - 8:54 PM FRISCO, Texas (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars claimed defenseman Doug Janik off waivers from the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday.Janik, 28, signed a free-agent contract with the Blackhawks on July 15 after spending the last two seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He registered three goals and 12 assists in 136 games with Tampa Bay.
The Stars also assigned right wing Raymond Sawada to the Manitoba Moose and center Aaron Gagnon to the Grand Rapids Griffins, both of the American Hockey League. Dallas also assigned center Perttu Lindgren to Lukko Rauman of the Finnish Elite League.
