Hurricanes sign LW LaCouture to one-year deal
Oct 6, 2008 - 7:27 PM RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Carolina Hurricanes on Monday signed left wing Dan LaCouture to a one-year contract.The deal will pay LaCouture $475,000 on the NHL level or $50,000 on the American Hockey League level, with a guarantee of at least $75,000 during the 2008-09 season.
"Dan came to our camp in great physical condition and earned himself a contract," assistant general manager Ron Francis said. "He is an experienced, veteran player with good speed and size and is capable of contributing on the NHL level."
LaCouture, 31, has totaled 18 goals and 43 points with 338 penalty minutes in 326 career games with the Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins and New Jersey Devils.
