DETROIT (Ticker) -- Detroit Red Wings right wing Johan Franzen will miss three to four weeks after spraining his right medial collateral ligament during Saturday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Franzen suffered the injury on a collision with Chicago defenseman Brent Sopel with 6:55 remaining in the second period of Detroit's 6-5 shootout loss.
The Swede, who helped Detroit capture the Stanley Cup last season with 13 goals and five assists in the playoffs, has collected five goals and two assists through eight games this season.
