NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla was named the NHL's "First Star" of the week on Monday.
Colorado Avalanche goaltender Peter Budaj and Detroit Red Wings right wing Marian Hossa were also honored.
Iginla had five goals and an NHL-best seven points this past week, leading the Flames to a 3-0-0 record over that stretch. The right wing notched a hat trick Thursday to lift Calgary to a 5-3 comeback victory over the Nashville Predators.
The 31-year-old Iginla also had a goal in Tuesday's 2-1 triumph over the Washington Capitals, and he tallied a goal and two assists during a 4-1 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday.
Budaj captured the "Second Star" after posting a 3-0-0 record with a 1.62 goals-against average and .941 save percentage this week. He is 3-3-0 with a 2.98 GAA on the season.
Hossa is quickly asserting himself with his new team, collected the week's "Third Star" after notching three goals and three assists over three games.
Hossa, who signed with the Red Wings this offseason, helped the reigning Stanley Cup champs pick up a fourth consecutive victory Saturday when he had two goals and an assist before netting the decisive goal in the shootout in a 6-5 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.
