Islanders D Sutton ready for season debut
Oct 28, 2008 - 9:05 PM UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- New York Islanders defenseman Andy Sutton will make his season debut Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers, the team announced Tuesday.Beginning his second season with the Islanders, the 33-year-old Sutton missed the first eight games after suffering a hand injury in training camp that required surgery.
He played in 58 contests for the Islanders last season, registering a goal and seven assists.
To make room for Sutton on the roster, New York sent defenseman Jack Hillen to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. Hillen played in six games for the Islanders without scoring.
