Hurricanes activate RW Walker
Nov 4, 2008 - 6:32 PM RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Carolina Hurricanes right wing Scott Walker, who missed the first 11 games of the season, was activated from injured reserve Tuesday.Walker, 35, sustained ligament damage in his left hand during a fight with Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Nathan Guenin in a preseason game on September 28 and underwent surgery on October 6.
The Ontario native is beginning his third season with the Hurricanes and 14th NHL campaign.
Walker played in 58 games last season, registering 14 goals and 18 assists.
In another move Tuesday, the Hurricanes announced that left wing Dan LaCouture has been assigned to Albany of the American Hockey League after clearing waivers.
