Sharks G Nabokov injured in shootout win
Nov 7, 2008 - 7:24 AM SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- San Jose Sharks goaltender Evgeni Nabokov sustained a lower body injury on the final play of Thursday's 5-4 shootout victory over the St. Louis Blues.The 2007-08 Vezina Trophy runner-up made 25 saves and denied three consecutive opportunities to end the shootout but injured himself on the last attempt taken by St. Louis' Patrik Berglund.
No details were released by the team and Nabokov's status for the Sharks' game at home against the Dallas Stars on Saturday is uncertain.
The 33-year-old native of Kazakhstan is 10-2-0 with a 2.72 goals-against average in 12 games this season.
