PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Flyers received a boost Saturday, when center Daniel Briere returned to the lineup for their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The 31-year-old Briere missed the previous six games after undergoing surgery to repair two torn abdominal muscles. In six contests prior to the injury, he recorded three goals and four assists.
Signed to an eight-year contract in July 2007, Briere has registered 196 goals and 259 assists in 568 career games with the Phoenix Coyotes, Buffalo Sabres and Flyers. He was drafted 24th overall by Phoenix in 1996.
