Flames D Sarich returns to game

Nov 12, 2008 - 4:46 AM CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- Calgary Flames defenseman Cory Sarich left Tuesday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third period with an apparent back injury, but returned later in the session.

Sarich was on the receiving end of a check from Alexei Ponikarovsky and quickly fell to the ice.

The 30-year-old blue-liner was helped to the locker room, but returned with nine minutes remaining in the period.
