Flames D Vandermeer out 6-8 weeks
Nov 13, 2008 - 10:55 PM CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- Calgary Flames defenseman Jim Vandermeer is expected to miss six to eight weeks with a broken left ankle, according to a report by the Calgary Herald on Thursday.The newspaper reported the six-year veteran suffered the injury during Calgary's 6-1 loss to Chicago on Sunday.
Vandermeer, 28, has recorded a pair of assists and 31 penalty minutes in 16 games this season. Acquired from Philadelphia on February 20, the 6-1, 211-pound native of Carolina, Alberta has registered 17 goals, 53 assists and 420 penalty minutes in 283 career contests with the Flyers, Blackhawks and Flames.
