Injury to Capitals LW Semin appears minor

Nov 15, 2008 - 4:30 PM NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Washington Capitals left wing Alexander Semin is not expected to miss substantial time after suffering an undisclosed injury in Friday's 3-1 win over the New Jersey Devils.

It is unclear when Semin suffered the injury and the league's leading scorer showed no signs of a problem, but did not return after the second period Friday.

There is speculation that Semin suffered a minor shoulder sprain and could return as soon Saturday, when the Capitals complete their home-and-home series with the Devils in New Jersey.

Drafted 13th overall in 2002, the fourth-year Russian leads the NHL with 13 goals, 27 points and a plus-17 rating.
