Ducks D Beauchemin undergoes surgery
Nov 20, 2008 - 11:57 PM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Anaheim Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin underwent surgery Thursday to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.The procedure was performed by team physician Dr. Ronald Glousman at the Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center.
Beauchemin, who has recorded four goals and one assist in 18 games this season, is expected to be sidelined for about six months.
A six-year veteran, the 27-year-old Beauchemin suffered the injury in the third period of Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to Nashville.
A third-round pick of Montreal in 1998, Beauchemin has registered 21 goals and 69 assists in 244 career games with the Canadiens, Columbus Blue Jackets and Ducks.
