Oilers activate D Smid

Nov 20, 2008 - 9:15 PM EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Edmonton Oilers on Thursday activated defenseman Ladislav Smid from injured reserve.

Smid was sidelined with a mild concussion suffered at Columbus on November 5 and missed the Oilers' last seven games.

Selected ninth overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2004, Smid has two assists and plus-1 rating with 11 penalty minutes in eight games this season.
