NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Florida Panthers defenseman Jassen Cullimore left Thursday's 3-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils in the second period with a right knee injury.
Cullimore was battling for the puck along the boards in the offensive zone when teammate Stephen Weiss undercut him with 6:36 remaining in the session. He fell awkwardly and had to be helped off the ice by two teammates.
The 35-year-old Cullimore, who saw 9 minutes, 50 seconds of action, was taken to the locker room and did not return.
"He's going to get evaluated. He's got a knee," Panthers coach Peter DeBoer said. "He had a brace on the knee, so we're hoping that saved him some damage. And hopefully, it's nothing long-term. But he probably won't know anything until he wakes up tomorrow."
Cullimore has recorded three assists and six penalty minutes in nine games this season.
