Avalanche RW Svatos likely to play Saturday
Nov 22, 2008 - 12:33 AM DENVER (Ticker) -- Colorado Avalanche right wing Marek Svatos practiced on Friday after suffering an abdominal injury one night earlier in the team's 1-0 loss to the Calgary Flames.Svatos did not come out for the third period against the Flames but is expected to be in the lineup against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.
"He looks good," Colorado coach Tony Granato said. "I thought he looked really good in practice, and he says he feels great. He'll be back in there (Saturday)."
The 26-year-old Svatos has recorded three goals and four assists in 17 games this season. A seventh-round pick in 2001, the Slovakian has registered 78 tallies and 48 assists in 210 contests over his five-year career with the Avalanche.
