Devils C Madden out vs. Islanders
Nov 22, 2008 - 4:13 AM NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) -- New Jersey Devils center John Madden did not play in Friday's 5-2 win over the New York Islanders after suffering an apparent foot injury a day earlier.Madden was hit in the left foot with a shot by Florida defenseman Nick Boynton 6:05 into the second period of Thursday's 3-1 victory over the Panthers. Although Madden appeared to be hobbling at first, he finished the game and assisted on the team's second goal, which was scored by blue-liner Paul Martin.
The 35-year-old Madden has recorded three goals and five assists in 18 games this season. The 35-year-old has notched 136 tallies and 282 points in 654 contests over his 10-year career with the Devils.
