Senators demote C Zubov
Nov 23, 2008 - 1:43 AM OTTAWA (Ticker) -- Following their 4-1 victory over the New York Rangers on Saturday, the Ottawa Senators assigned center Ilya Zubov to Binghamton of the American Hockey League.The 21-year-old Zubov registered one shot on goal while playing 7 minutes, 48 seconds in the victory. In four games with the Senators after being recalled on November 14, the native of Chelyabinsk, Russia posted a minus-1 rating without notching a point.
Zubov leads Binghamton in scoring this season with eight goals and 10 assists in 13 games.
A fourth-round pick in 2005, the 6-foot, 200-pound Zubov made his NHL debut last season, appearing in Ottawa's 4-2 loss at Washington on January 15.
