VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- Vancouver Canucks right wing Steve Bernier left Monday's 3-2 overtime win against the Detroit Red Wings in the first period with an upper-body injury.
Bernier did not return for the following session after taking a check behind the Red Wings' net by defenseman Brett Lebda.
The 23-year-old Bernier has five goals and four assists in 22 games this season.
A first-round selection by the San Jose Sharks in 2003, Bernier has 50 goals and 49 assists in 199 games with the Sharks, Buffalo Sabres and Canucks over his four-year career.
