ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Chicago Blackhawks on Friday recalled goaltender Corey Crawford from Rockford of the American Hockey League.
Crawford is 6-3-0 with Rockford this season and has posted a 2.75 goals-against average.
The 23-year-old played in five games with the Blackhawks last season, registering a 1-2-0 record with a 2.14 GAA.
In a corresponding move, Chicago placed defenseman Aaron Johnson on injured reserve with an apparent left arm injury suffered in Wednesday's overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks.
Blackhawks' starting netminder Nikolai Khabibulin also was injured Wednesday and replaced by Cristobal Huet, who figures to start Friday's game against the Anaheim Ducks.
