Senators recall D Lee, C Smith from minors
Nov 29, 2008 - 12:35 AM OTTAWA (Ticker) -- The Ottawa Senators on Friday recalled defenseman Brian Lee and center Zack Smith from Binghamton of the American Hockey League.Lee started the 2008-09 NHL season in Ottawa, playing in its first five games. He recorded one assist, while averaging 13 minutes, 3 seconds of ice time per game. In 16 AHL games since being assigned to Binghamton on October 22, the 21-year-old has one goal, five assists and 18 penalty minutes.
Lee was selected ninth overall by the Senators in 2005.
Smith, 20, has recorded a team-leading nine goals, while adding seven assists and 32 penalty minutes in 21 games with Binghamton.
His 16 points leave him tied for sixth in AHL rookie scoring, while his nine goals are tied for third most among first-year players.
The Senators seek their third straight win when they visit the New York Islanders on Saturday.
