UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- The New York Islanders on Saturday recalled goaltender Yann Danis from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League.
The 27-year-old Danis played in one game with the Islanders this season, turning aside 27 of 32 shots in a 5-4 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on November 1.
In a corresponding move, the Islanders reassigned fellow goalie Peter Mannino to Bridgeport. The 24-year-old relieved starter Joey MacDonald and surrendered three goals on eight shots in his NHL debut in a 7-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on Friday.
The Islanders also placed defenseman Bruno Gervais on injured reserve, retroactive to Monday. Gervais is day-to-day with a leg injury suffered Monday's 4-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens.
Gervais has five assists while averaging 20 minutes, 56 seconds of ice time in 21 games this season.
