PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- After missing 14 of his team's last 16 games with a groin injury, Philadelphia Flyers center Daniel Briere returned to practice on Monday.
The 31-year-old Briere has tentatively targeted Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning as his potential return to action.
"It's looking better and better. I don't want to say for sure; today felt pretty good," Briere said. "It's probable, I guess, but you have to wait and see how it reacts.
"Today, everything was really good. I don't think I was restrained by anything."
Philadelphia coach John Stevens remained cautious about Briere's possible return.
"If he doesn't have any setbacks, it's a possibility he'll play," Stevens said.
Briere suffered the injury in the Flyers' 3-1 victory over the New York Islanders on November 11.
The Quebec native has notched five goals and four assists in eight contests this season.
