RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday recalled goaltender Justin Peters from Albany of the American Hockey League.
Carolina netminder Cam Ward suffered a groin injury during Sunday's game against Anaheim, prompting the roster move.
Peters, who is 3-7-2 with a 2.79 goals-against in Albany this season, is expected to serve as the backup to Michael Leighton.
In a corresponding move, the Hurricanes placed defenseman Tim Gleason - who has missed the last four games with a leg injury - on injured reserve.
