Canucks D O'Brien leaves game

Dec 18, 2008 - 5:27 AM VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- Vancouver Canucks defenseman Shane O'Brien left Wednesday's game against the Edmonton Oilers during the first period with an undisclosed injury.

The 25-year-old blue-liner was on the receiving end of a hit from Oilers right wing Zack Stortini with 7:18 remaining in the session.

O'Brien, who retreated to the locker room, returned later in the period for one shift before departing again.
