Blackhawks place D Sopel on injured reserve
Dec 30, 2008 - 6:15 PM DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday placed defenseman Brent Sopel on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury.Sopel, 31, has one goal and one assist in 23 games with Chicago this season. He has two goals and 20 assists in 81 contests with the Blackhawks over the last two years.
In a corresponding move, the Blackhawks activated right wing Adam Burish from injured reserve.
Burish, who missed the past 14 games with a broken toe, has not recorded a point in 19 games with Chicago this season.
