Dec 31, 2008 - 12:33 AM DENVER (Ticker) -- Colorado Avalanche center Paul Stastny had successful surgery on Tuesday to repair his fractured right forearm.

Stastny will be sidelined between six and eight weeks.

The 23-year-old sustained the injury during last Tuesday's 5-4 overtime victory over the Phoenix Coyotes. He exited after blocking a slap shot during a penalty kill.

Stastny has 10 goals and 21 assists in 34 games this season, his third with the Avalanche.
