Bruins place C Bergeron on IR

Dec 31, 2008 - 5:34 PM BOSTON (Ticker) -- Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron, recovering from his latest concussion, will miss at least another week after being place on injured reserve Wednesday.

Bergeron has been sidelined since suffering a concussion December 20 following a collision with Dennis Seidenberg of the Carolina Hurricanes. Bergeron spent one night in the hospital.

Last week, the Bruins said Bergeron, who was limited to 10 games last season due to a concussion, had shown marked improvement.

Bergeron, 23, has registered four goals and 18 points this season for the red-hot Bruins, who have won nine straight games and have 60 points to tie San Jose for the most in the league.
