Isles place C Sillinger on IR
Dec 31, 2008 - 7:02 PM UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- The New York Islanders on Wednesday placed center Mike Sillinger on injured reserve.Sillinger suffered a hip injury during Monday's 5-4 loss to the New York Rangers. The veteran scored his second goal of the season in the contest before getting hurt.
In other moves Wednesday, the Islanders recalled goaltender Yann Danis and left wing Trevor Smith from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League.
