Canadiens assign O'Byrne, Maxwell to AHL
Dec 31, 2008 - 11:17 PM MONTREAL (Ticker) -- The Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday assigned defenseman Ryan O'Byrne and center Ben Maxwell to Hamilton of the American Hockey League.O'Byrne, 24, has registered three assists in 22 games for the Canadiens this season. He was Montreal's third-round pick in 2003.
Maxwell, 20, was called up by the Canadiens on December 12 and made his NHL debut the following day against Washington. The Canadiens' second-round choice in the 2006 draft, Maxwell did not score in seven games with Montreal.
