Kings rookie RW Moller injured in World Juniors
Jan 1, 2009 - 12:46 AM OTTAWA (Ticker) -- Los Angeles Kings rookie right wing Oscar Moller left Sweden's 5-0 win over Russia in the World Junior Championship with a shoulder injury and did not return.The Swedish captain recorded an assist before exiting midway through the contest.
"Everyone did a good job in his absence, and especially Andre Pettersson on the power play," Sweden coach Par Marts said. "Of course, Oscar is a very important guy on this team, but you have to play with the guys you have."
The 19-year-old Moller was selected in the second round - 52nd overall - by the Kings in 2007. A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Moller has recorded six goals and seven assists in 30 games with Los Angeles this season before being permitted to compete in the Junior tournament.
