Bruins recall C St. Pierre
Jan 1, 2009 - 6:10 PM BOSTON (Ticker) -- Martin St. Pierre is back with the Boston Bruins.One day after being assigned to the minors, St. Pierre on Thursday was recalled by the Bruins on an emergency basis.
Summoned from Providence of the American Hockey League on December 20, the 25-year-old St. Pierre recorded one goal and one assist in five games with Boston. A native of Ottawa, the center currently leads Providence with 25 assists and 35 points in 30 contests this season.
Acquired from Chicago on July 24, the 5-9, 185-pound St. Pierre has registered two goals and four assists in 26 career NHL games with the Blackhawks and Bruins.
Boston, which has won nine games in a row and 14 of 15, hosts the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night.
