Capitals send C Giroux to AHL
Jan 4, 2009 - 1:28 AM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Washington Capitals on Saturday assigned center Alexandre Giroux to Hershey of the American Hockey League.Giroux, 27, appeared in 11 games with the Capitals this season, notching one goal and one assist. The native of Quebec City also has recorded 18 tallies and 30 points in 25 contests with the Bears.
A seventh-round pick of the Ottawa Senators in 1999, the 6-3, 201-pound Giroux has registered three goals and three assists in 21 career NHL games with the New York Rangers and Capitals.
