Hurricanes send RW Dwyer to minors
Jan 4, 2009 - 11:42 PM RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday sent right wing Patrick Dwyer to Albany of the American Hockey League.Recalled prior to Saturday's 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning, Dwyer did not notch a point after logging 5 minutes, 57 seconds of ice time.
Dwyer made his NHL debut with the Hurricanes earlier this season, recording one goal in 13 games.
A native of Spokane, Washington, Dwyer also has registered seven tallies and 10 assists in 25 contests with the River Rats.
A fourth-round pick of Atlanta in 2002, the 5-11, 175-pound Dwyer was signed by Carolina as a free agent in July 2006.
