Avalanche to be without D Foote, RW Laperriere

Jan 5, 2009 - 8:23 PM DENVER (Ticker) -- The Colorado Avalanche will be without defenseman Adam Foote and right wing Ian Laperriere for Tuesday's contest at Nashville.

Both veterans were injured during Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild that extended Colorado's losing streak to three games.

Foote, who suffered a triceps injury, played briefly in the second period but did not return. He did not participate in Monday's practice and is sidelined indefinitely.

The Avalanche also played the third period of Sunday's contest without Laperriere, who was limited to just nine minutes of ice time due to a back injury.

Colorado coach Tony Granato said that Foote will be evaluated in the next few days and that Laperriere is day-to-day.

Daniel Tjarnqvist is expected to take Foote's spot on defense Tuesday, while center Ben Guite, a healthy scratch against Minnesota, likely will replace Laperriere in the lineup.
