Avalanche place D Foote on IR

Jan 6, 2009 - 5:54 PM DENVER (Ticker) -- The Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday placed defenseman Adam Foote on injured reserve with a triceps injury. The move is retroactive to Sunday.

Foote, 37, suffered the injury in a 2-0 loss to Minnesota. A 17-year veteran, Foote has four assists in 30 games this season.

The Avalanche recalled left wing Philippe Dupuis from Lake Erie of the American Hockey League to take Foote's roster spot. The 23-year-old did not record a point in three games with Colorado earlier this season.

A fifth-round pick by Columbus in 2003, Dupuis was acquired along with Darcy Campbell for Mark Rycroft on January 22, 2008.
