Leafs send LW Kulemin to minors
Jan 7, 2009 - 4:37 PM TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday assigned left wing Nikolai Kulemin to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.A second-round pick in 2006, Kulemin has recorded seven goals and seven assists in 40 games with the Maple Leafs this season, his first in the NHL. The 22-year-old Russian also registered eight penalty minutes and a minus-5 rating while averaging 13 minutes, 55 seconds of ice time.
The 6-1, 183-pound Kulemin notched two penalty minutes in 10:02 of action in the Maple Leafs' 4-2 loss to the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.
