Maple Leafs C Stajan returns vs. Canadiens
Jan 9, 2009 - 12:52 AM MONTREAL (Ticker) -- Sidelined five games after hitting himself in the eye with a soccer ball, Toronto Maple Leafs center Matt Stajan returned to the ice for Thursday's contest against the Montreal Canadiens.The 25-year-old Stajan sustained blurry vision after the incident, which occurred on December 27.
After signing a two-year contract extension over the summer, the native of Mississauga, Ontario entered Thursday with nine goals and 21 assists in 34 games this season.
Selected in the second round of the 2002 draft, Stajan has collected 65 goals and 92 assists in 348 career contests with the Maple Leafs.
