Hurricanes RW Walker injured

Jan 21, 2009 - 4:00 AM PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Carolina Hurricanes right wing Scott Walker left Tuesday's 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first period with an upper body injury and did not return.

Walker recorded one shot in 4 minutes, 37 seconds of ice time before exiting the contest.

The 35-year-old veteran has registered three goals and 10 assists in 33 games this season. A native of Cambridge, Ontario, Walker was selected in the fifth round by Vancouver in the 1993 draft.

He has collected 144 goals and 243 assists in 778 contests with the Canucks, Nashville Predators and Hurricanes over his 14-year career.
