Predators C Arnott notches 800th career point

Jan 29, 2009 - 5:30 AM VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- Nashville Predators captain Jason Arnott recorded his 800th career point on Wednesday in the waning moments of the second period against the Vancouver Canucks.

With Vancouver's Mats Sundin serving a cross-checking penalty, Arnott received a pass from defenseman Ryan Suter in the left faceoff circle and unleashed a blast past All-Star goaltender Roberto Luongo with 11 seconds remaining in the session.

The goal was Arnott's team-leading 16th of the season and 347th career.

Drafted seventh overall by Edmonton in 1993, the 34-year-old Arnott also has recorded 453 assists in 1,012 contests with the Oilers, New Jersey Devils, Dallas Stars and Predators.
