Ducks sign RW Parros to three-year extension

Jan 30, 2009 - 12:34 AM ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Anaheim Ducks on Thursday signed right wing George Parros, who is in his third season with the team, to a three-year contract extension.

Financial terms were not disclosed for the deal that keeps the 29-year-old Parros under contract with the Ducks through the end of the 2011-12 season.

"We are pleased to announce that George has signed for three more seasons," Ducks general manager Bob Murray said. "His character and toughness on the ice, along with his commitment to our community, have been valuable assets for the organization."

In 45 games with the Ducks this campaign, Parros has recorded three goals and five assists. The 6-5, 231-pound enforcer, who was a member of Anaheim's Stanley Cup championship team in 2007, also has collected 74 penalty minutes.

An eighth-round pick of Los Angeles in 1999, the native of Randolph, New Jersey has registered seven goals, 12 assists and 497 penalty minutes in 203 career contests with the Kings, Colorado Avalanche and Ducks.
